To help the children discover God’s love for them by:

• Recognizing God’s love for them through experiences of being love by others, especially within their families,
• Seeing the beauty in God’s creation.
• Understanding that God made all things because He loves us.
• Realizing that all good things are gifts of God.

To help the children discover that they are lovable by:

• Recognizing individual differences as God-given.
• accepting and appreciating self as a unique creation and special child of God.               

To help the children meet the person of Jesus by:

• Picturing New Testament images of Jesus’ tenderness and love.
• Relating to Jesus as a good friend.

To help the children form a habit of prayer by:

• Saying simple prayers in the morning, evening and at mealtime.
• Praying spontaneously on special occasions.           

To help the children develop an appreciation of praying with God’s family by:

• Praying in class,
• Participating in liturgies.
• Visiting Jesus in Church.           

To help the children shape attitudes of justice and peace by:

• Sharing with others.
• Caring for other people.           

To help the children respect life by:

• Recognizing that all of God’s creation needs care,
• Showing concern for all people, especially the lonely, the sick and the elderly.
