The Holy Eucharist is at the center of sacramental life. At Mass, during the Liturgy of the Eucharist, we are nourished by the Body and Blood of Christ, and we renew our commitment to Jesus.
Children at Immaculate Heart of Mary School are prepared for First Holy Communion, which they receive in May of their second grade year. Children not attending IHM are prepared in their second grade IHM Religious Education class. Before a child may receive First Holy Communion, he or she must complete two years of formal classroom religious education.
Parents of children not attending IHM School should contact the IHM Religious Education Program at (914) 723-7593 for more information regarding First Holy Communion. Or, visit the IHM Religious Education pages on this website
