Have you made a New Year’s resolution to get closer to God? Well now is your chance to seek God in Scripture and Sacrament!
The Immaculate Heart of Mary Bible Discussion Group is studying the Book of Exodus, which details the liturgical rites of ancient Israel, and we invite you to join us for the New Year when we will finish Exodus and begin the Book of Revelations at the end of February 2025.
Please join your fellow parishioners Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 7 pm in the lower church for companionship, refreshments, and the reading and discussion of Books in the Bible with like-minded sojourners to Christ.
All parishioners and anyone they care to invite are welcome. We often have 20 participants, leading to a lively discussion with many ideas, thoughts, and interpretations, opening up the Scriptures for a better understanding of its meaning and significance for our lives. We will continue most Tuesdays until late Spring 2025 discussing one or two chapters an evening depending on their length. Refreshments are served for the convenience of the participants. Hope to see many of you there as we grow in Faith together seeking the Wisdom of God.
Watch the IHM Bulletin for the most up-to-date announcements, including the scripture currently being discussed.
Overview
The IHM Bible Discussion Group typically meets every Tuesday night between September and mid-June from 7 PM to 8:30 PM in the IHM lower church. Parishioners gather to read, analyze, and discuss Sacred Scripture while enjoying a little dessert and each other’s company. To make Bible Discussion more accessible at IHM and accommodate those unavailable on Tuesday night, there is a do-it-yourself-at-home option.
All participants will receive a weekly "Reflection and Questions" for that week's scripture on the weekend before the next meeting. Participants are encouraged to contribute to the group’s analysis of the week’s scripture passages by attending the meeting in person or replying to the email with their thoughts.
Please use the form below if you have any questions or want to join us to participate with fellow parishioners in expanding your knowledge of the Sacred Scriptures.
All voices are welcome, so please consider joining the discussion and probing the Scriptures with greater insight from the Gospel study used, your own prayerful considerations and that of your fellow Christians journeying towards our eternal home together.
